Music Ministry

"May they sing the ways of the Lord, for the glory of the Lord is great!"  Psalm 138:5

Whitfield UMC loves music.  Congregational singing is accompanied by Telsie Davis, our gifted organist who plays an Allen instrument.  The music program has a wide variety of music from classical to contemporary.  Those who sing in the choir use their God-given talents and also grow spiritually while fellowshipping with Christian brothers and sisters. Angie Mitchell is our Music Director.

Chancel Choir – Rehearses from 7:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday evenings and sings at the 10:30 am worship service each Sunday.

Sarah’s Merry Elders – This senior adult choir is led by Jack Reed.  They sing occasionally at the 8:15 am worship service, but their primary ministry is providing musical programs at numerous assisted living and nursing home facilities each week.  They are and continue to be a great blessing to the many persons who hear them sing.

Jack Pippin Ringers -  This handbell choir practices on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 pm in the choir room.  They help to embellish the hymns and choir anthems during the church year.

Whitfield Ringers -  A new Choirchimes choir for Children age 4 - Youth.  We meet in the Chapel, Sundays @ 4:00 p.m.

Instrumentalists and those with special talents share them in worship periodically throughout the year.

We invite and encourage all those who enjoy music to join one of these groups.  Instruction, patience and love are always provided.
